Villa Rose Senior Living Community
At Villa Rose Senior Living Community, we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of all residents and staff.
Everyone is Healthy! Villa Rose will continue to monitor every resident each day to make sure that everyone stays healthy. As we see Illinois move into Phase 3, we will look to make some changes as well.
June 3, 2020, the Beauty Shop will open with safety precautions in place.
- Courtney and Sharon will be working alternate weeks, we will only have one stylist in the shop at a time.
- We will use deposable capes, each resident will be required to wear a mask. The stylist will also be wearing a mask.
- The area will be cleaned after each resident.
- We will only allow one resident in the stylist chair and one resident under the dryer.
- Residents will be called when its time for them to come to the beauty shop, to avoid congregating around the beauty shop.
Residents who need to go for medical appointments will only be quarantined to their rooms for 10 days instead of 14 days. Residents are encouraged to cluster their appointments to avoid multiple quarantine periods.
- Residents will need to speak with Stacey or Cindy for approved appointments, medically necessary appointments will be approved.
- BJC will monitor them each day during their quarantine
- Meals will be delivered to their rooms
We will return to full staff in June. The kitchen will return on June 1 and office staff on June 15. Breakfast select menus will be offered again. Lunch and Dinner will remain the same. We have set up a break room so that staff can social distance when eating. CDC guidelines say you are considered exposed when you are less than 6 feet for longer than 15 minutes without a face covering. Staff will be extremely diligent about social distancing without a face mask to ensure that we do not expose residents or staff if someone becomes asymptomatic.
Our hope is to introduce a visiting room on Monday, June 22, 2020. This room would be designated for families to come and visit their loved ones. This would be by appointment only, there will be a screening process and guidelines in place to keep everyone safe. I will email additional details on Friday, June 5 as well as a way to schedule your appointment.
We do not know when residents will be able to go out in public. Since their age makes them such a high risk it is likely they will recommend they not go out into the general public until a vaccine is available. Of course, we will continue to ongoingly monitor the recommendations.
Stacey returned home several weeks ago, she has had a reduction in hours and will be working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8 a.m.—2:30 p.m. She will be on-call for us on Thursdays.
John, Food Service Director, and I have continued to live on the property. John and I are both planning to return home on or about June 1, 2020. We will still be available if needed. At this point, we are trying to move to a “new normal”.
Thank you for being patient and understanding, I know this was unchartered territory for us all. I appreciate your prayers and support.
Please note that the Villa Rose team of employees are committed to keeping your loved one safe and healthy. We will continue to monitor each of these changes and adapt as needed. May God continue to protect us and be with us as we move forward

How We Are Different
Villa Rose is unique! We are an independent living community that allows seniors to remain as independent as possible while offering them the resources they may need to do just that. What makes us different? We have supportive services available, but you don’t pay for them unless you need them or until you need them. Why should you pay for services you aren’t using? That’s just one of the ways that we’re able to offer the best value in retirement living in the St. Louis region.
At Villa Rose, you have your own private senior apartment with your own furnishings, and you come and go as you please. Yet, with your rent on your apartment, you receive all the benefits that come with living in our secure retirement community, including three meals-a-day, 24-hour emergency response, activities and entertainment, just to name a few. If the day comes that you need assistance—such as help with your medications, bathing or dressing, or getting to and from meals—it’s here. If you need help, even temporarily, you can contract with the on-site private-duty home care service and receive appropriate assistance to keep you as independent as possible, for as long as possible.
Villa Rose has been chosen the Small Business of the Month Winner for August 2019 by the Riverbend Growth Association.
